Terms, Safety & Policies
Everything you need to know about renting with Tobermory E-Bikes, including the platform terms, your rights, and our local rules.
Ridenet Platform
Tobermory E-Bikes operates on the Ridenet platform, powered by Tobermory Adventure Sports Inc. All rentals, bookings, and rider accounts are governed by the Ridenet legal documents listed below.
Ridenet Legal Documents
These documents apply to every rental made through the Ridenet platform, including rentals from Tobermory E-Bikes.
Tobermory E-Bikes — Additional Fleet Rules
In addition to the Ridenet documents linked above, the following rules apply to all rentals from Tobermory E-Bikes.
Operating Area
Bikes must remain within the Tobermory and Northern Bruce Peninsula area during your rental period. Leaving the designated area may result in additional fees and voids the liability waiver for any incidents that occur outside the operating zone.
National & Provincial Park Rules
Bruce Peninsula National Park and Fathom Five National Marine Park have specific rules regarding e-bikes. E-bikes are permitted on paved and gravel roads within the park but are prohibited on hiking trails (including the Bruce Trail within park boundaries). Always check posted signage at trailheads.
Seasonal Hours & Weather
Rental availability is seasonal (typically late May through early October). During active rentals, bikes should be returned before dusk unless equipped with lights. Rentals may be suspended or rescheduled during severe weather at our discretion with a full refund or rebooking offered.
Wildlife & Environment
The Bruce Peninsula is home to protected wildlife including the Massasauga rattlesnake. Stay on designated roads and paths, do not disturb wildlife, and carry out all waste. If you encounter a rattlesnake, stop and give it space to move away.
Parking & Locking
Always use the integrated smart lock when leaving the bike unattended, even briefly. Park in designated bike areas or secure public racks. Do not block sidewalks, doorways, dock access, or accessibility ramps.
